Pads

It’s Quieter, Stops Quicker and Lasts Longer

Decades of research and development have created the pinnacle of brake pad technology that outperforms “ceramic” and traditional semi-metallic pads in all categories, and we have the independent test data to prove it. What is our secret? At Performance Friction® we don’t just copy OE, we make it better.

Compounds

Our Passenger and Commercial vehicle compounds will give you the stopping power, extended wear, noise reduction and driver control you want.  The metallic elements in our pad material dramatically improve braking.  Carbon provides stability at extreme temperatures making the pad less likely to deform and deteriorate.  Click on the link for a more detailed listing of compounds.

20
Our Carbon Metallic® pads are our most popular brake pads. With NO CLAY fillers, they’ll outlast the competition 2 to 3 times, and will be the pad best suited for most people’s daily driving needs. Carbon Metallic® offer superior braking, pedal feel and longer life without fade at high temperatures.  They are denoted by a WWWW pad shape and an ending XX compound number of .20, for example: 0786.20

10
Our Z-Rated® pads are an extension of the Carbon Metallic® brand, specifically engineered for high performance and/or severe duty usage. Whether you drive a BMW, Corvette, Honda, Porsche or Mustang, or you tow tons of weight with an F350, Z-Rated® is engineered to deliver safety and performance under even the most severe conditions.  They are denoted by a WWWW pad shape and an ending XX compound number of .10, for example: 0345.10

Our Off-Highway range of Carbon Metallic pads are available in compound 18 or 46.  They are denoted by a WWWW pad shape and an ending XX compound number of .18, for example: 8440.18

Our Motorsport and Powersport range of brake pads are available in a number of compounds, depending on the application.  Some of our other top selling compounds are listed below.  Click on the link for a more detailed listing.  They are denoted by a part number that contains the WWWW pad shape, XX compound, YY overall thickness and ZZ finish  (see part numbering diagram)

07
MOTORSPORT/POWERSPORT - LATEST RELEASE
07 has increased initial bite over 05 compound and a progressive torque rise with temperature.  07 hails as the leader of maximum pad braking performance.  NOTE:  All 05 compound pad shapes will supercede to 07 as stocks are depleted.

01
MOTORSPORT - Wide Variety of Applications
01 has high initial bite and torque, with very little torque rise with temperature.  At the end of the stop, 01 compound has less torque scatter for improved modulation with excellent release.

95
POWERSPORT - Progressive Feel
Champions such as Troy Bayliss, Steve Hislop, Shane Byrne and John Reynolds choose 95 compound for its excellent release and moderate initial bite, which yields a more progressive feel.  Excellent controllability with a slight torque rise for a more balanced suspension at high corner entry speeds.  Virtually fade free with excellent wear rate.

Finish Performance Friction recommends our 44 - RaceReady™ pad finish.  The pads undergo a patented factory process to eliminate green fade.  We also offer a 34 - Dyno Burnished finish where pads are bedded against Performance Friction disc under computer controlled conditions.  Read more ...
